Demo Bid Opening for a New EHS

On Thursday, September 13th, many local contractors turned out for the public bid opening for demolition services in relation to the new Elyria High School. The meeting was a great success, with 12 responses received. The recommendation of the lowest responsible bidder to receive the award will be taken to the next board meeting on September 19th. For questions, contact Bob Teitenberg, project administrator, Regency Construction Services Inc., (216) 529-1188.

Hello Elyria High Bloggers,
We received very good coverage on the demolition contract. Over 24 contractors attended the pre-bid meeting and 12 contractors submitted bids. The apparent low bidder is J.L. Reichert Paving in Elyria, Ohio. The next step in the process will be to determine if the apparent low bidder is a responsible contractor. We will conduct an interview with the company, discuss how many projects they have done that are similar in size and scope, discuss how long they have been in business, how many employees they have, their safety record and many other items. If the contractor is determined to be "responsible" a contract will be awarded to them and the work will begin in a few weeks after the approval process is complete.
