Inside the New EHS: Cafeteria with Washington Building View

Architects gave members of the Elyria Board of Education their first peek inside the new Elyria High School at a board meeting held Wednesday, February 11, 2009.

Architectural renderings to this point have displayed the building's dramatic exterior features, from its gabled roof and rose-tinted brick to its historic arched courtyard entrance and stately stone facade of a renovated Washington Building.

Now, Architectural Vision Group has opened the doors and is taking us inside the new structure with visuals of some of the student areas, including the cafeteria, music room, gymnasium and auditorium and athletic corridors. The illustrations give us a taste of what's to come but aren't meant to be exact replicas of a finished product. Indeed, finishings, such as paint and tile colors, furnishings, lighting and the like, will not be decided until the final stages of the project.

No matter, the interior renderings give us something to imagine. Take your own peek inside by clicking here. PATIENCE ADVISORY! This powerpoint file is large and may take a while to download. Downloading is recommended.
